Teaching:

As a part of Dendroclimatology training programme on “ Dendroclimatology and Climate change” delivered lectures to the trainees on the title: Tree-ring sample collection procedures : Field and laboratory methods in dendroclimatology. Practical and demonstration to familiarization of dendro equipments, lab processes and a field expedition has been arranged for the trainee participants ( Forest officials from different parts of the country) to give an on hand training on how to collect the tree-ring samples from living trees by using Swiss increment borers at Golwadi Forest near Singhagad Fort on 11 December 2009 and collected about 50 cores from living teak trees

Visit to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest at Gangtok, Sikkim: Visited the office of the Chief Principal Conservator of Forest at Gangtok, Sikkim on 30 October 2012 for discussion for carryout the cores from the Heritage Tree of Sikkim Forest. A talk also delivered by me to the 20 Forest officials who attended on the subject : Tree-ring sample collection procedure and dendroclimatic technique.

Visit to the Principal Chief Conservators of Forests, Govt. of West Bengal, Kolkata:

Visited the office of the Principal Chief Conservators of Forests, Govt. of West Bengal Kolkata during 10-12 November 2012 for permission for field expedition at Darjeeling and Sunderland areas for collection of teak/ confers and mangroves sample for dendroclimatological studies.

Training provided:

(i) Training provided to Forest Officials: As a part of Dendroclimatology training programme on “ Dendroclimatology and Climate change”, theory as well as practical classes and demonstration to familiarization of dendro equipments, lab processes etc has been given by me to the participants. A field expedition has been arranged for the participants ( Forest officials from different parts of the country) to give an on hand training on how to collect the tree-ring samples from living trees by using Swiss increment borers and various techniques has been taught to the trainees at the field, near Golwadi Forest, Singhagad Fort on 11 December 2009 and collected about 50 cores from living teak trees

(ii) Field Training provided to CES (IISC) Officials of Bangalore at Tamilnadu: A field training has been provided to Centre for Ecological Sciences (CES), IISc ,Bangalore officials at Wild life Sanctuary, Mudumalai, Tamilnadu, for collection of tree-ring samples for their on going Projects during 22-5-2007 to 30-5-2007

(iii) Field Training provided to SASE Officials at SIMLA: A field training has been provided to Snow and Avalanche Studies Establishment (SASE) officials at Simla for collection of tree-ring samples from restricted areas of Himalayas under SASE project during 14-19 October 2005

(iv) Dendro Training provided to IWST students of Bangalore: As a part of familiarization of dendroclimtology a 5 days dendro training was provided to the students of the Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST), Bangalore.

Training obtained :

(i) Training obtained on Dendrochronology at USA: During the training programme at Tree-ring laboratory, New York USA, an extensively technical training on using specific laboratory equipments, software’s and statistical programmes to analyze the tree-ring data, experimental and analytical techniques in the field of dendroclimatology was provided

( ii) Training obtained on Densitometer: The Densitometry system Dendro-X Ray 2003 has been installed in the dendro Lab. An instructional training for using /handling the system has been provided by the company Engineer of Switzerland during 19-28 Sept 2007 at our Institute.

( iii) Training obtained at Bangalore: Undergone a training on “ Training Programme for Liaison officers for SCs/STs/OBCs” at Bangalore during 6-8 November 2008, conducted by the Institute of Public Administration, Bangalore.

(iv) Training obtained at New Delhi: Undergone a training on “CMI`S 4^th Advanced Executive CDM training Programme (AECTP)” at New Delhi during 8-10 July 2009, conducted by Carbon Minus India, New Delhi
